10 months old - September 9th

Mason is now 10 months old! He is 21 pounds 3 ounces and still around 29 inches long (and wearing 12-18 month clothes). Not too much has changed since last month, except for now he has a tooth! He is also getting pretty good at using his finger and thumb to put food into his mouth. Tom and I are back to school and Mason is back at "Grandma" Mary's - and back to being the center of attention among all the girls there!

Mason LOVES the Backyardigans! His face lights up when the theme song comes on :)

FIRST TOOTH!

Mason's first tooth broke through at 9 1/2 months! It's the bottom, center right tooth. For the most part, he is acting completely normal. He was just a little bit cranky for about 2 hours the day it came in (August 26th).

9 month old - August 9th

I can't believe Mason is 9 months old already! He is 20 pounds 9 ounces and a little over 29 inches long. His personality blossoms more and more each day. He still has no interest in crawling, although he is rarely on his stomach. If we do put him on his stomach, he immediately flips over. He loves to stand with support. We think he will go straight to walking (just like Tom did). At times, he gets frustrated because he wants to move, but just doesn't know how. He also just learned how to say "ba." Mason still has no teeth at this point. As for eating, I started giving him puffs, yogurt melts, spaghetti, cut up bananas and blueberries. He is getting better each day at grabbing the food with his finger and thumb so that he can put it in his mouth.

So much for my signs - Mason knows they are there! It was really hard taking his picture this month because all he wanted to do was eat the sign!

Run for the Roses

This was Mason's first trip! We were in Lexington, Kentucky on a business trip. The entire family came to help us sell ballher products at the Run for the Roses Tournament, which we sponsored. It was a successful weekend with a little added excitement. To make a long story short....During our last night in the hotel, the fire alarms went off around 2 in the morning. Mason, being the trooper he is, was completely calm, even with a VERY LOUD alarm going off right over his crib. We made our way outside for about 45 minutes while the firemen confirmed there was no fire, but some kids in the room above us messing around and broke a sprinkler head. Mason was just having a good time staring at the fire trucks and their lights! When we got back to our room (one of the 2 rooms we had rented), we noticed water pouring in from the ceiling. Needless to say, we got a new room and moved all of our stuff in the middle of the night. At least the hotel refunded us for our entire stay!
